Worst President in US History

Donald Trump isn't just a flawed president. He stands, in this view, as the most damaging occupant of that office in the modern era, without any real rival for that distinction.

He has transformed the presidency into a stage for personal drama, made loyalty to him a political litmus test, and turned the country's divisions into a tool of governance rather than a problem to solve.

Under him, facts bend to whatever serves his interests. Institutions earn his respect only when they fall in line. Allies become expendable, critics become adversaries, and constitutional boundaries become obstacles to route around.

This Is Not Normal

A president's job, in principle, is to bring the nation together, uphold the Constitution, safeguard the public, and hand off a stronger democracy than the one he inherited.

By this account, Trump has done the reverse — normalizing corruption, harshness, disorder, and the belief that holding power outweighs any guiding principle.

History, in this framing, won't measure him by crowd sizes, rally rhetoric, or the loyalty of his base. It will measure the wreckage he leaves.
And when that reckoning arrives, he may not be remembered as the leader who restored American greatness, but as the one who put the country's democratic resilience to its harshest test.

Trump's Fans

What is most disturbing is not that Donald Trump is so observably diabolical, it's the fact that his deluded fans do not seem to care. It is profoundly disappointing to realize that millions of our fellow Americans identify with this president and regard him as their hero and savior. As such, we are sharing our nation with citizens who support a fascist dictator, an authoritarian madman, a lawless leader. They are engaged in the mindless worship of a tyrant king.

They affirm and promote his dishonesty, corruption, ignorance, hypocrisy, violence, and incompetence. They are okay with his greed, narcissism, and reckless abuse of his political position for personal gain. They applaud his immorality and depravity and ignore his bigotry, racism, sexism, misogyny, adultery, sexual misconduct, rape, and pedophilia.

They are well-represented by a hateful, soulless, malicious, vindictive, warmongering, gaslighting white supremacist moron who disregards the Constitution and the rule of law and harbors profound contempt and disdain for the American people.

Trump's pathetic MAGA followers talk a good game, but they do not walk their talk. They have no credibility regarding their precious values. They support a president whose words and actions are contrary to their beliefs.

They say they believe in fidelity and faithfulness, and yet they elected a man who is untrustworthy and dishonest, a man who is disloyal and breaks his promises. They say they support religious freedom, but elected a man who seeks to impose religious doctrine into governmental matters.  These devout, pious religious people embrace a profane, depraved, godless infidel. They worship a cult leader and are clueless of their own hypocrisy.

They say they promote small government, but elected a micro-managing tyrant who seeks to inflate government's role in people's personal lives.  They rail against cancel culture only to elect a man who threatens the media, bans books, and erases history.

They tout morality while, at the same time, they emulate the immorality of a despotic madman who takes bribes, abuses power, obstructs justice, and breaks laws.  They uphold a man who is the opposite of all they proclaim as sacred.

The Right Wing is Dishonest and Hateful

Let's be clear. The right wing (including republicans, conservatives, evangelicals) can always be expected to be dishonest and hateful.

Any movement in our nation that seeks to grant justice, equality, and inclusion to those who are different will be renamed and ridiculed as "politically correct," "bleeding heart," "socialism," or "woke."

It happens all the time. The ring wing factions in our society oppose open-mindedness, education, science, progress, and diversity. They have, at every time period in history, sought to oppress, malign, and torture those who are different, those who threaten their archaic, misogynist, bigoted, racist mindset.

Trump is a Criminal and a Traitor

Donald Trump is easily the worst president in US history. Clearly, the most incompetent, ignorant, immoral, and dishonest president.

His stupidity is staggering. His incompetence is devastating. His lying is insidious. His cruelty is barbaric. His bragging is embarrassing. His ego is laughable. His crimes against women and children and disgusting.... And your support of him is pathetic.

He has lied to the American people, violated the rule of law, abused the power of his position, obstructed justice, trampled citizens' rights, and ignored the US Constitution. He has, on several occasions, colluded with foreign agents, committed treason, and incited insurrection within his own country.

He has expressed disdain for the average American, especially the working poor, middle class, and minority communities and actively sought to further oppress and disenfranchise them. He has deliberately wrecked our economy, degraded our government structure, and removed support and protection of the average American, while heaping rewards, tax breaks, and subsidies on the wealthy.

He has advanced bigotry, racism, homophobia, xenophobia, sexism, and misogyny. He has defended greed, corruption, immorality, violence, and criminal activity. He has attacked and dismantled human rights in our country and promoted a nationalist, authoritarian, fascist agenda.

He is the most un-American of all US presidents.

Legacy of Lies and Corruption

"I would love my legacy to be that I was a great president."
-Donald Trump

So sorry, Mr. Trump, that's not going to happen. No way in hell.

You were a great liar and a cheat. You were corrupt, dishonest, and irresponsible. You were ignorant and incompetent. You broke laws, obstructed justice, trampled rights, and ignored the constitution. You were a bully and thug. You used your office for personal gain, you rewarded your rich friends, and you accepted bribes.

You will never be regarded as a great president anywhere but in your head. Your pitiful narcissism, your constant bragging, and your fragile ego will be long remembered. You vilified innocent citizens, trashed honorable people, verbally attacked your critics, and lied about those you were jealous of. Like the cheap little insecure child you are, you put your name on everything. You cared only about yourself and displayed vicious disdain and contempt for the American people.

You will be remembered for your stupidity. As No other president was as ignorant, misinformed, and illiterate as you. You exaggerated, you fabricated, you mischaracterized. You ignored truth and facts.

You incited insurrection, you pardoned dangerous criminals, you covered up crimes, you coveted the property of other countries. You brought back bigotry, racism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, and xenophobia. You were a rapist and pedophile. You made a joke of justice, equality, inclusion, and diversity.

You destroyed the reputation and integrity of our nation abroad. You were an international laughingstock. A global disgrace. You were an embarrassment to you and your country.

And you did nothing to improve the lives of the American people.

Despotic Madman

Everything trump has done since taking office has been consistent with the behavior you would expect from an authoritarian dictator...

--Hanging huge banners of his portrait on government buildings
--Putting his face and name on anything and everything
--Erecting numerous vanity projects
--Talking about himself constantly, bragging, boasting
--Governing by edict (multiple and incessant executive orders)
--Seeking and obtaining immunity and incurring no accountability for his illegal actions
--Expressing admiration and support of other authoritarian dictators
--Breaking laws and ignoring the Constitution

--Conducting operations and launching projects without congressional approval
--Attacking and threatening to attack other countries without provocation
--Trampling human rights, reversing protections for marginalized groups
--Attacking the news media
--Restricting funding and activities of universities, educational institutions, and research centers
--Questioning the validity of elections

--Imposing restrictions on the curriculum that is taught in schools and colleges
--Appoints friends, relatives, insiders, and investors to key positions without credentials or oversight
--Posting lies, disinformation, and propaganda
--Denouncing statistics, data, facts, and research and replacing them with false data
--Creating a gestapo-like police force (ICE) that operates without restriction, detaining, imprisoning, deporting, and killing people in the streets
--Using his office for personal gain, taking bribes, selling access and influence
--Removing historical documents, erasing historical narratives, revising historical data

--Mixing religion and politics
--Labeling certain groups as enemies of the state (Mexicans, immigrants, Muslims, gay people, trans people)
--Using the presidential podium to bully, berate, attack, and dishonor outspoken critics
--Creating a assembly of loyal followers that act more like unquestioning, sycophantic cult members than advisors

Trump's Response to Criticism

Whether he is berating members of the press for reporting the facts or ridiculing a celebrity for expressing their opinion about the administration's atrocities, it is clear President Trump is uncomfortable with negative feedback.  His thin skin and fragile ego can't handle negative press, critical editorials, or even jokes.  And he lashes out in an attempt to restrict free speech.

Trump recently became enraged by the comments of late night television host Jimmy Kimmel.  He responded by demanding that Kimmel be fired for the jokes he told at Trump's expense. It has become typical that when he is confronted by remarks that he does not like, Trump seeks the dismissal, removal, termination, or punishment of the speaker who dared to exercise their right to free speech.

Anyone who understands the requirements of leadership know that Trump's demands are inappropriate, cowardly, infantile, undignified, unprofessional, and embarrassing.  Anyone who understand the Bill of Rights knows that Trump's demands are also un-democratic and un-Constitutional.

It appears Trump may need to be reminded that he really is not a dictator and we really do not live in an authoritarian state.  and US citizens have the right to free expression, especially with regard to our government leaders.

Party of Lies and Corruption

Unfortunately, our greatest fears about Trump and the republican party are in fact true. And it's very sad. It's sad for decent, intelligent, patriotic republicans. And it's sad for all Americans.

It would be nice to have two equally viable political parties in the US. It would be the best of all possible worlds to have two legitimate parties with differing, but healthy, points of view. America deserves to have two sides of every debate, two opposing opinions, two different approaches.
But, alas, that situation no longer exists. The republican party no longer represents a viable alternate perspective. They are no longer an equally legitimate option. They have lost their credibility, their integrity, their honor.

The republican party has no legitimate agenda that is supported by the Constitution. It is the party of lies and corruption. It supports fascism, treason, and lawlessness. It promotes inequality, injustice, and bigotry. It tolerates abuse of power, conflicts of interest, unfair practices, and executive privilege. It denounces diversity, equity, and inclusion and sides with white supremacists, foreign dictators, and nazis. It dismisses science and research and favors disinformation over facts. It worships its despotic leader at the expense of their own sense of sanity, civility, morality, and rational thinking.

Worst of all, the republican party no longer cares about or even tries to serve the average American citizen. They no longer support the working class, the working poor, and the majority of Americans who are not wealthy. They overtly express disdain, animosity, and contempt for the average citizen. They are not focused on making Americans' lives better, but instead they are intent on removing benefits, protections, and rights. They continue to pass laws that oppress American citizens.

Do you remember the last time the republican party ever did anything to relieve the struggle of working class Americans? Do you ever remember a time when the republican party did anything to improve the quality of life of the working class? Do you recall republicans ever doing anything to benefit anyone other than the wealthy?

Republicans Enable Trump

The GOP controls Congress. The GOP is afraid of Trump and wants to stay in power. To that end, the GOP defends Trump's inappropriate, illegal, and dangerous actions. They make excuses for him, lie for him, and refuse to question his behavior. They literally let him get away with murder.
